Big undertaking
I'm thinking of trying to knit something like this sweater. Definitely would be the biggest project I've tried so far…
Picture is from birgittezeuner's flickr photostream.
The yoke chart pullover pattern is profiled at Ravelry.

fine little day
I've been reading the posts at fine little day for quite a while, but always through google reader. I happened to click through the other day and found this pretty "fine" hand-lettering.

Sorry
Ha, I'm not really sorry… but I realize I've been slacking. I'm working a full-time contract job, keeping my other projects moving on the side, and have a head cold. I have been bookmarking things for O&C… so eventually, I'll share them.
The lovely "SORRY" above is from friends of type (you should click so you can see a bigger version and all the detail)

get: slippers
Jem and the holigrams
Now on to the "get" part. Joe wants to be geologist when he grows up (and a biologist and probably a few other things). So he loves collecting rocks and gems and stuff like that. That fact also makes him really good at picking jewelry. These 4 bracelets are all presents from Joe, and he bought them all from etsy shops. Each one features different semi-precious stones: turquoise, jade, and a few I'm not sure on.

Wildflower seed packs
Joe and I worked together to make this gift for a few of our green-thumbed family members. Joe collected seeds from a bunch of varieties of wildflowers he cares for… and I created envelopes and labels for the seeds. We packed them up neatly in a brown paper lunch sack. Rolled up the top, punched holes, and tied a ribbon. If you ever need a package for a hard to wrap item… the old lunch sack trick is a good one. It takes no time at all.

Give + Get
I thought I'd start off the new year by stretching out the holidays a bit more… and sharing some of the gifts I made and some of the gifts I got.
First up, the hat I knitted for Joe's nephew, Jackson. Jackson is a little guy, so most of his hats are too big. I got lucky and it's the right size - with a little room to grow this winter.

Joy! Joy!
