Dallas Clayton: An Awesome Book
I received an email the other day from Dallas Clayton, sharing some of his hand-lettering and doodling. I particularly liked his children's book: An Awesome Book. My mom's a school librarian and my sister works for children's services… which means we talk about kids books more than the average family. I think it has really good message - teaching kids to value ideas + imagination rather than things. Absolutely love it, too bad my Christmas shopping is done!

Q&A with Kate Bingaman Burt
Check out Q&A with Kate Bingaman Burt over at my love for you.
There's information overload in this article, but I think her obsessive comsumption pieces (like this record of a starbucks purchase) are pretty fascinating. She also did a project where she hand drew her credit card statements. Holy Cow.

Babar Illustrations
I vaguely remember Babar books as a kid, mostly I remember the cartoon I would watch before school. I remember we had some of the books in French (my mom is a school librarian, so there were a lot of books around). Anyhow, I think I need to take a second look at the illustrations. found via print a day

Kate's Paperie logo
A while back when I was a print design intern, I'd get to run errands to buy paper samples and supplies which was quite a treat. One of my favorite things to do ever is run errands. I remember going to Kate's Paperie in SoHo quite a few times. Check out the new Kate's Paperie logo (and web site).

spark logo
I wouldn't really consider this hand drawn type… but it has an interesting concept - creating letters out of objects/illustrations - that I think would translate well to the hand-drawn kind of type.
